Mr. Leslie TANG, the President of the Society, delivered the opening speech at the First World Statistics Day Seminar organized by the Society (click here for the contents of speech).
Professor NG Kai Wang, the Head of Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science at the University of Hong Kong, reported his completion on “An Unexpected Journey to the Converse of Bayes Theorem” (click here for the synopsis and presentation slides) in the seminar . After the seminar, Mr. TANG presented the souvenir to Professor NG.
Mrs. Lily OU-YANG, Acting Commissioner for Census and Statistics, delivered an opening speech at the commemorative dinner, jointly organised by the Society and the Census and Statistics Department (click here for the contents of speech).
During the dinner, Professor GU Ming-gao, the Graduate Division Head in the Department of Statistics, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Professor LAM Kin, Professor Emeritus of Hong Kong Baptist University, shared with members on the application of statistics. Over 100 statistical professionals and academics attended the commemorative dinner.
