Mr. Fung, Chairman of the Examination Board delivered a talk on
"A Gateway to Statistical Profession"

To enable interested parties understand more about the examination of Hong Kong Statistical Society and the career prospects, a briefing seminar was conducted jointly with the Centre for International Degree Programmes of the School of Professional and Continuing Education of the University of Hong Kong on 9 December 2008.  Around 80 interested parties attended the talk.

In the seminar, Mr. Fung gave a presentation on strategic importance of statistics, the history and recent development of the examination of the Hong Kong Statistical Society.  He also talked about the career prospects after obtaining the qualifications granted by HKSS at various levels, and discussed the jobs for statistical professionals that were available in the private and public sectors in Hong Kong.
